As a remembrance ceremony, the mirror reflects the environment of Rio Mimbres onto itself during the solar noon hour, briefly associating a cosmic alignment con la memoria de mi tatara abuela, Canuta Gutíerrez Torrez, who was a citizen of Mimbres, Grant County, New Mexico in 1869 and died in 1926 at 12:05pm. As an installation, the work is a remnant of the remembrance ceremony, becoming a model of the sun path of Canuta’s time of death as seen from her place of birth.
